The Gaza ceasefire talks resumed in Qatari capital Doha on March 12 in the presence of United States Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, Hamas leaders, Egyptian and Israeli delegation.

Israel라이브 바카라 foreign minister in a recent interview stated that their government "will never consent to end the Gaza war unless Hamas is completely disarmed" while calling Hamas' power in Gaza 'unacceptable'.

Israeli attacks on different areas of Gaza Strip has killed four people and wounded 14 over the past 24 hours.

Israel cut off power in Gaza after they suspended supplies of humanitarian goods to the territory of more than 2 million Palestinians last week, in the aim of pressuring the militant group to accept an extension of the first phase of their ceasefire. That phase ended March 1.

Israel wants Hamas to release half of the remaining hostages in return for a promise to negotiate a lasting truce.

Hamas instead wants to start negotiations on the ceasefire's more tedious second phase, which would see the release of remaining hostages from Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and a lasting peace.

Hamas is believed to have 24 living hostages and the bodies of 35 others.

Meanwhile, Yemen's Houthi rebels warned shippers on March 12 that “any Israeli vessel” travelling through nearby Mideast waters is now a target as Israel continues to block aid to the Gaza Strip.

Gaza Ceasefire Phase 2

United States Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff took part in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha where mediators attempted to revive the Gaza ceasefire deal.

The negotiations were aimed to either extend the first phase of the ceasefire or reach a deal on the second stage.

Senior Hamas official, Abdul Rahman Shadid in a statement confirmed tha resumed talks in Doha, he said, "A new round of ceasefire negotiations began today."

"Our movement is dealing with these negotiations positively and responsibly," he added.

The talks took place behind closed doors and what exactly did the Qatari, Egyptian and American diplomats decided has not come out to the media yet.

According to Al Jazeera, Israel라이브 바카라 public broadcaster Channel 12 reported that an Israeli team went to the Qatari capital.

Channel 12라이브 바카라 report also stated that "mediators will attempt to extract a concession from Hamas in the form of a release of Israeli captives in exchange for a temporary extension of the ceasefire, which aims to buy talks more time".

Hamas earlier stated that it is not interested in such a proposal.

Why Is Israel Against Phase 2 of Gaza Ceasefire?

Al Jazeera writer has explained that the reason why Israel is proposing an extended ceasefire deal over a second part is the nearing elections in the country.

Stefanie Dekker told Al Jazeera that "March 31 is when the Israeli government needs to pass the budget. If the budget fails – Netanyahu has right-wing coalition partners who can cause that to happen – then the government will automatically collapse, and Israel will need to go to elections within 100 days."

Reportedly this is why Netanyahu doesn’t want the second phase and the mediators in Doha are strategising for a middle ground to extend the first phase.

Dekker also added that there is pressue from Trump governemnt on Israel to come to a resolution soon.

Recent Israeli Attacks

Israeli fire has killed four people and wounded 14 in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, Palestinian officials said, even as a fragile ceasefire with Hamas has largely held.

According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli settlers in the Umm Safa village of West Bank, have attacked several vehicles.

The Israeli forces also attacked a residential building Jenin city of West Bank on March 11. Heavy gunfire was later reported from Bedouin village of Umm al-Nasr in northern Gaza.

Meanwhile an Israeli air attack killed five people near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza.

Israeli strikes have killed dozens of Palestinians who the army says had approached its troops or entered unauthorized areas in violation of the January truce.

The Health Ministry in Gaza in its latest report on deaths by the Israeli war revealed that a total of 36 killed – four newly killed, 32 bodies recovered – were recorded and 14 wounded people arrived in hospitals during the past 24 hours.

As per the ministry, the total confirmed number of people killed in Israeli attacks since October 7 stands at least 48,503, with 111,927 others wounded. They also mentioned that there are several victims trapped under the rubble.

Yemen's Houthi Rebels Warn To Attack Israel's Vessels

Yemen's Houthi rebels warned shippers on March 12 that “any Israeli vessel” travelling through nearby Mideast waters is now a target as Israel continues to block aid to the Gaza Strip.

The warning from the Houthis again throws into chaos a crucial maritime waterway between Asia and Europe, threatens revenue from Egypt's Suez Canal and possibly will halt aid shipments to war zones. The rebels in the past have also had a loose definition of what constitutes an Israeli ship, meaning other vessels could be targeted as well.

The statement from the Houthis' Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center follows a four-day deadline set by the rebels for Israel to resume aid shipments.

“We hope it is understood that the actions taken by the (Houthi military) ... stem from a deep sense of religious, humanitarian and moral responsibility toward the oppressed Palestinian people and aim to pressure the Israeli usurper entity to reopen the crossings to the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of aid, including food and medical supplies,” the statement said.

It described the warning as taking hold in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Arabian Sea.

The statement added: “Any Israeli vessel attempting to violate this ban will be subject to military targeting in the declared operational area.”

There was no immediate sign of an attack on ships. Israel's military did not respond to a request for comment.
