Israel Strikes In Beirut, A First Since Ceasefire with Hezbollah; Gaza Preps For Eid Amid Starvation, Attacks

A massive airstrike was carried out by Israel on a building in Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday which marks the first such attack since the ceasefire agreement took place between Israel and Hezbollah in November 2024.

Israel continues to carry out attacks and raids across the occupied West Bank along with the Jewish settlers who have attacked Palestinians. This comes on the last Friday of Ramadan before Eid al-Fitr.

Israel stopped the entry of humanitarian aid along with electricity after Ramadan began.

Beirut

According to Reuters the Israeli strike in Beirut was massive and it caused thick black smoke to cover the entire area of Hadath. The Israeli army had earlier ordered an evacuation of the neighbourhood and reportedly carried out three smaller drone strikes on the building as warning shots.

Reuters also reported that the people in the locality were seen fleeing in panic while gunshots were also heard. Reportedly there were limited drone strikes in the area as part of warning.

The massive bombardment in the targeted building took place after an hour and the Israeli military claimed that the building in Hadath belonged to Hezbollah.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee had earlier shared a map of the area in a post on X where he wrote, "To everyone present in the building marked in red as shown on the map and the buildings adjacent to it: You are present near facilities belonging to Hezbollah."

“For your safety and the safety of your families, you are obliged to evacuate these buildings immediately and stay away from them at a distance of no less than 300 metres, as shown on the map," he added.

Lebanon

Israeli attacks have been reported in multiple locations in southern Lebanon.

The Ministry of Public Health라이브 바카라 Public Health Emergency Operations Centre revealed that an Israeli air strike on the town of Kfar Tibnit killed one person and injured eight, including three children.

Gaza

According to Al Jazeera, an Israeli air raid killed a worker and wounded six others with the World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid organisation in Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, "Israeli forces stormed a residential building during a raid on Rafidia neighbourhood, west of Nablus, and raided the city of Nablus through the Surra checkpoint."

An Israeli raid was also reported on the town of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah.

Jewish settler attacked on shepherds in Khirbet Janba in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. They also attacked and deployed between the towns of Qabalan and Jurish, south of Nablus, under the protection of the Israeli army, as per reports.

How Is Gaza Celebrating Eid al-Fitr This Year?

Despite the war-torm ambience, Palestinians in Gaza are preparing to mark the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr.

Residents who are focused to avoid starvation, are finding a way to mark the holiday during the war.

Al Jazeera reported that Palestinians in Bureij in the central Gaza Strip are make traditional cookies this year as well to distribute as charity.

The Eid al-Fitr holiday, which marks the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

US Hits Houthis

The United States have struck more than 40 locations across Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen, including in the capital Sanaa.

It led to severe property damage as multiple residential homes and shops were gutted on Friday in the provinces of Saada, Marib, al-Jawf and Hodeidah, according the Houthi-linked Al Masirah TV.

the air raids also targeted the Sanaa International Airport, which is used for both civilian and military traffic.
