An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 struck Myanmar on Monday. As per the Indian National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.

This is the second earthquake to hit Myanmar in 24 hours. On Sunday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck Burma.

On Sunday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck Burma near the Meiktila region. As per Myanmar's Meteorological Department, this earthquake struck in the area of Wundwin, which is 97 kilometres south of Mandalay.

As per an AP report, residents in the Wundwin area felt strong tremors in the area.

These earthquakes in Myanmar come after the deadly 7.7 magnitude tremor on March 28, 2025 which caused destruction in Bangkok, Thailand. As per reports, over 3,000 people were killed due to the March earthquake.

Apart from Myanmar, tremors were also felt across parts of Asia. India and Tajikistan also felt earthquakes.

As per reports, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake was reported in India's Himachal Pradesh. The remor was felt in the Mandi district at 9:18 am.

In Tajikistan, two earthquakes were reported within an hour. The first, a powerful 6.1 magnitude quake, was detected at 9:54 am IST at a depth of 10 km, and the second tremor of magnitude 3.9 struck the region again at 10:36 am IST.
