Pope Francis’ coffin is planned to be sealed in a rite on the evening of April 25, Vatican news said.
Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, will preside over the Rite of Sealing the Coffin of the late Pope Francis, according to the report. The ceremony will take place ahead of the papal funeral scheduled for Saturday morning.
The rite will be attended by numerous Cardinals and officials of the Holy See. It will also mark the conclusion of the public viewing at St. Peter라이브 바카라 Basilica, where tens of thousands have gathered to pay their final respects to the late Pontiff.
A solemn rite refers to a formal, ceremonial act or procedure, often with a religious or significant context, that is characterized by seriousness and formality.
Those assisting the rite will also include Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari, Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza, the Canons of the Vatican Chapter, the Ordinary Minor Penitentiaries of the Vatican, the late Pope라이브 바카라 secretaries, and others admitted by the Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations, Archbishop Diego Ravelli, the report said.
Pope Francis' funeral will take place on Saturday, April 26. As per the official announcement from the Vatican, the funeral will take place in the square in front of St Peter's Basilica at 10 AM (0800 GMT).
The Vatican says Pope Francis died of a stroke that put him into a coma and led to heart failure.
The death was confirmed Monday by Dr Andrea Arcangeli, the head of the Vatican라이브 바카라 health department.
