South Korean President Lifts Martial Law After Backlash And Unrest

South Korea saw a night of unrest after President Yoon Suk Yeol imposed emergency martial law. However, after backlash from the National Assembly, which voted to defy the president, Yoon Suk Yeol withdrew martial law. Following the president's uncalled decision to declare martial law, South Korea lawmakers have passed a motion demanding the president's impeachment or resignation, whichever comes first.
