For years, Clinton has been at the receiving end of backlash from the Republicans, including Trump, for the former Secretary of State's use of a private server for classified emails in 2016.

During her tenure in the Obama Administration, controversy erupted after it was discovered that Clinton was using a private server for official communication rather than using the official server provided to State Department employees.

Clinton's email leak was also a major point during the 2016 Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

What Is The Clinton Email Controversy?

In 2015, Clinton's email system became public after the New York Times ran a front page article on her use of a private email server, adding that this "may have violated federal requirements."

As per a FBI investigation, a total of 113 emails from Clinton라이브 바카라 email contained classified information at the time they were sent or received,

Further investigations revealed that another roughly 2,000 emails were classified later.

Then FBI director James Comey found this evidence and stated that Clinton and her aides had been "extremely careless" using a private server for official communications.

"From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification," stated Comey.

In July 2016, the FBI announced that the investigation had been concluded and that while Clinton was "Careless", her actions did not have criminal intent and cannot be prosecuted.

However, 11 days before the 2016 presidential elections, FBI started looking into newly discovered emails, and notified Congress that its decision stands the same.

While this controversy lost Clinton the 2016 vote, the handling of classified information has become a major issue in US politics.

During the first Trump administration, the President had been accused of retaining classified documents. While Trump's VP Mike Pence returned the documents, Trump refused to do so.

Similar accusations were also made against Joe Biden during his tenure as Obama's Vice President.
