These are unprecedented times that we are living through. Old alliances are fraying, and new ones forming in their place. Ceasefires are meaningless, wartime is eternal, and somewhere in between, history is being rewritten.
A lot, all at once. Cold War rivals Russia and the US are talking of a peace deal. Europe is in a state of flux. China is prepared for “any war.” Is there a new world order, a new war, a new reset? In 바카라라이브 바카라 latest issue, World At Reset, we take a closer look.
In her introductory note, 바카라's editor Chinki Sinha writes from Russia on how Russkiy Mir—Putin라이브 바카라 ideology of Russian supremacy—seems to work in Moscow. There is a veneer of grandeur, she finds, which diverts focus from questions of war and politics, and showcases power and prosperity.
On February 18, two Cold War adversaries, the US and Russian officials, met in Riyadh. Soon after, high-level teams were designated to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war. Both nations also agreed to restore diplomatic personnel and explore economic cooperation. Is the US reset with Russia due to the China factor? Anil Wadhwa, former Indian ambassador to Italy and Oman, explores the implications in this issue.
Europe, once a pillar of Western cohesion, has fallen into a mid-Atlantic rift, which opened up when its closest ally, the US, decided to ditch it and side with Russia. Amir Ali, who teaches political science at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), writes that the 21st century is turning on two hinges, where different forms of the European nation-state and its sovereign integrity are involved. One is on Europe라이브 바카라 doorstep and exists precariously in the form of Ukraine. The other is a European settler outpost a little farther out in the form of Israel. Europe라이브 바카라 response contrasts notably—its support for Ukraine against Russia and the lack of such support for Gaza/Palestine, which could never become a nation-state.
As old hierarchies falter, China is filling the void. Avinash Godbole, Professor at Jindal Global University, writes that China라이브 바카라 ultimate aim is to replace the US and become the pre-eminent power in the world. For a while now, China has emerged as a patron voice of globalisation, and it comes with the goal to delegitimise American power and its values. China has just about begun the influence phase of its great power status, and the US withdrawal from its great power commitments and its leadership position is good news for China.
Is the ongoing global geopolitical security crisis ephemeral or a continuum? writes Raviprasad Narayanan, faculty at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
