Centre has revoked the restrictions under GRAP III. As per reports, the Commission for Air Quality Management has withdrawn GRAP III in Delhi-NCR as AQI levels improved.

However, protocols under GRAP 1 and GRAP II remain active across the national capital region.

While the Centre has stated that air quality levels across Delhi-NCR have improved, AQI remains in the "poor category".

"Owing to the favourable meteorological conditions and better wind speed, the AQI of Delhi has been continuously improving and has been recorded as 339 at 4 pm and 335 at 5 pm and the trend/forecast indicates the AQI levels to further go down," reads the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.

"Construction and demolition project sites, etc., which have been issued specific closure orders on account of violations/non-compliances of various statutory directions, rules, guidelines etc., under no circumstances shall resume their operations without any specific order to this effect from the Commission," read the order issued by CAQM.

However, despite the reduction in AQI, the air across Delhi-NCR remains bad.

GRAP III was implemented across Delhi-NCR over the weekend due to a sharp increase in pollution levels. Under Stage 3, BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi and surrounding NCR districts are prohibited from entering.

In November, when pollution levels hit a new high in Delhi-NCR, the Supreme Court ordered the Centre and NCT government to impose GRAP and forbade them from removing the restrictions unless court permission was granted.
