In a latest development, at least 14 more people have been arrested in connection with the violence in Nagpur earlier this week, taking the total number of arrests to 105, PTI confirmed.

Citing official PTI reported that 14 persons, including 10 juveniles, were nabbed on Friday. Three more FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident.

What Did The Police Say?

"14 accused were arrested from different parts of the city in connection with the riots. Three more FIRs have been registered related to the riots," Nagpur police commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singhal told PTI.

"The decision to lift the curfew from some parts of the city would be made after a high-level review meeting," he added.

Meanwhile, Singhal holds a meeting at Police Bhavan in Civil Lines here to take stock of the situation.

About The Violence

On the evening of March 17, violence erupted in central Nagpur in the Chitnis Park area in Mahal with stones hurled at police amid rumours that the Quran, the holy book of a Muslim community, had been burnt during an agitation by a right-wing body for the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb.

Following the violence Thirty-three police personnel, including three deputy commissioner of police-rank officers, were injured during the violence. Key accused Fahim Khan is among those booked for sedition.
