Pakistan late Saturday ordered that any Indian ships will not be allowed to visit any Pakistani port and also barred Pakistani ships from docking at any Indian port, a Pakistani newspaper, the Dawn, reported.
“In view of the recent development of maritime situation with neighbouring country, Pakistan in order to safeguard maritime sovereignty, economic interest and national security enforces following measures with immediate effect: Indian flag carriers shall not be allowed to visit any Pakistani port, Pakistani flag carriers shall not visit any Indian port (and) any exemption or dispensation shall be examined and decided on case to case basis,” reported Dawn.
Pakistani Ranger Detained By BSF
As tensions flare between India and Pakistan, a Pakistani ranger was detained by the BSF in Rajasthan on Saturday.
As per reports, the Pakistani Ranger has been taken into custody by the Rajasthan frontier of the Border Security Force.
This detention also comes weeks after Pakistani rangers apprehended a BSJ jawan for crossing the border accidentally. BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw was detained by the Rangers on April 23 from along the international border in Punjab.
Since then, Pakistan has refused to hand him over despite a strong protest registered by the Indian force.
