Retired police sub-inspector Zakhir Hussain Bijli who was part of the security of former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi was murdered in Tirunelveli.
Bijli had already predicted his death in a video, just a few days prior to the attack. He had recorded a video in which he said he would be killed and also predicted who the assailants could be allegedly in connection with a land dispute.
When the 64-year-old was riding his motorcycle home after morning prayers, assailants pulled him from his vehicle and hacked at his head, killing him.
Bijli was the administrator of the Murthim Zarkhan Dargah and had been fighting a legal battle to reclaim a 36-cent land near an old dargah in Tirunelveli town from Noorunnissa, a woman from the same town who possessed it.
Bijli had filed complaints with the district collector and commissioner against Noorunnissa and two police officers. In his video, he claimed the case against him was a setup, and the officers intended to have him killed.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin condemned the murder in the state assembly, while Opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami called for compensation for Bijli라이브 바카라 family.
