Three Naxals Killed In Major Anti-Maoist Operation Along The Chhattisgarh-Telangana Border

Three maoists have reportedly been killed in an anti-insurgency operation carried out by the security forces. The encounter is still ongoing with the numbers expected to increase.

Three naxalites of the banned Communist Party of India were killed in an encounter with the security forces on Thursday along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. According to reports, the encounter is still ongoing in the Karegutta hills in Chattisgarh라이브 바카라 Bijapur district. 

The encounter was carried out by a joint-team of security forces who were carrying out an anti-Naxal operation in the area. The operation is being conducted in the forest where Maoist commanders Hidma Madvi and Damodar are allegedly hiding, as reported by the Indian Express. 

According to a senior police official, three bodies have been recovered from the action site with several others suspected to be killed in the ensuing gun fight. 

The operation involves various security forces from the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Bastar Fighters, Special Task Force (STF), state police, Central Reserve Police Force and its elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA). The counter-insurgency is one of the biggest in the Bastar region involving around 10000 security personnel who are also being assisted by the Telangana police. 

The operation commenced on Monday with the forces surrounding around 200 members of Battalion 1 of the People라이브 바카라 Liberation Guerrilla Army, claimed to be the most vicious armed unit among the maoists. The forest is considered to be one of the suspected bases of the outfit and the search operations are being carried out in the area. Some naxals have also surrendered and the operation is expected to last several days.
