Both teams had a poor start to the tournament. LSG, struggling with absence of their key Indian pacers, lost their campaign opener narrowly to DC before winning against SRH but then they lost to PBKS in their last outing. MI started the tournament with back-to-back losses, first to CSK and then to GT. However, they bounced back well in their last game to thrash defending champions KKR.

A good start for LSG and they are once again riding on Marsh power. 15 balls and the Australian has smashed 26 already even as his partner Markram finds his rhythm on the other end. Boult and Chahar, the MI new ball duo, have not found much swing and that has not helped MI.

23 runs off the final over of the powerplay and Ashwani Kumar has been hammered by Mitchell Marsh in the sixth over of the game. Marsh has already raised his half-century, his third this season in four games. And LSG are off to a great start. Markram has faced just six balls in the powerplay and scored seven. What a start. MI need wickets but who will bring it?

LSG lost two wickets as MI fought back in the contest after an early onslaught from Aussie opener Mitchell Marsh. The Aussie all-rounder scored 60 (31 balls) as he belted the MI bowlers to all corners. MI removed the dangerous Nicholas Pooran too, as they picked up their second wicket.

Rishabh Pant was the latest wicket to fall for LSG against MI as the hosts failed to seize the opportunity after a stellar opening. Pant. The ball held up, on a length, as the LSG captain looked to tuck it and got a leading edge. The man at mid-off came charging in, put in the slide and took it one-handed.

Ayush Badoni has looked calm and composed at the crease after the former walked in post Rishabh Pant's dismissal. The Indian batter hit three boundaries off Mitchell Santner's bowling and has partnered Aiden Markram in the middle-overs.

Ayush Badoni was dismissed for a well-made 30 off 19 balls but Aiden Markram continued hitting fours and sixes as LSG looked to up the ante against MI. However, Markram was sent back after scoring his fifty as MI fought back and will be a tad happy if they restrict the hosts under 200.

What a performance from Hardik Pandya! The MI skipper finishes off with 4 overs, 36 runs and five wickets to his name. Despite the David Miller blitzkrieg at the end, MI has done exceptionally well to restrict the hosts for 203 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh top-scored for LSG with 60 runs.

 It has been disappointing when you lose. If we have to be honest, on the field, we gave away 10-15 runs on that wicket. I have always enjoyed my bowling. I don't think I have many options. I try to read the wicket and try some smart options. I don't try to go for wickets. I try to bowl dot balls and let the batters take risks. I think as a batting unit, we fell short. We win as a team. We lose as a team. Don't want to point someone out. The ownership has to be taken by the whole batting unit. I take full ownership. It was obvious. We needed some hits. In cricket, some of those days come. When you try but it doesn't come off. Just play good cricket. I like to keep it simple. Take better calls. Be smart in bowling. Take chances in batting. Play simple cricket with some aggression. As it is a long tournament, couple of wins and we might get into the rhythm.

There is always pressure when you are bowling the penultimate or the last over, Avesh did a great job as well. But at the end of the day you're paid to do that job. It was a tricky surface, sometimes you thought the slower ones would work but even a few slower ones were hit for boundaries, in the end it was the yorkers that worked. We do see what happened in the first half, but we have seen in the IPL that the pitch changes in the second half and becomes better, it is about adjusting to the conditions. He (Rathi) is a phenomenal bowler and a character as well, we need such guys in the team - who comes in and delivers for the team and he has been a bit of a surprise in the IPL. I feel the bounce is even on the red soil and the ball comes on nicely but you need more skills as a batter on black soil when there's no dew.
