Opting to bowl first, Nepal restricted Qatar to 151/5 in 20 overs, with Qatari skipper Ikramullah Khan scoring 54 runs. He was well-supported by Shahzaib Jamil (wk) as they took their side to a decent total.
In reply, Nepal came out of the blocks with Kushal Bhurtel (38) and Aarif Sheikh (33) firing all cylinders against an inexperienced Qatari bowling attack. Despite losing the openers, Nepal captain Paudel (37 not out) and Basir Ahamad (30 not out) made sure there were no more hiccups.
Nepal registered an eight-wicket victory and notched up their first win of the series.
