Atalanta are third with 61 points from 32 matches (18 wins, seven draws), 10 points behind Inter and Napoli at the top. However, just two points remain between them and fifth placed Juventus, so they will aim for a win to secure their top-four status.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are down in ninth place with 51 points from 32 matches (14 wins, nine draws). They are six points away from the European football places, with sixth-placed Roma on 57 points. They can, however, overtake Fiorentina (53 points) on to eighth place with a win tonight.

The first 10 minutes have been scratchy, with no team able to shape together any opening in the opposition's penalty box. AC Milan have tried to use Theo and Gimenez on both flanks to float in crosses, but the big Atalanta defence have not been bothered yet.

AC Milan are yet to enjoy any decent spells of possession, and the home fans are clearly getting tired of it. Whistles can be heard around San Siro as Atalanta hold on to the ball.

No attacking impetus from either teams at the moment though. It's like they haven't gotten the memo yet that this is a must-win game.

AC Milan get close yet again, as Leao's cross almost reaches Pulisic on the far corner.

While AC Milan were enjoying their best spell of the game, Atalanta hit back quickly. The buildup is sublime, and the goal is created by Ademola Lookman cutting in from the left side and floating one towards Raoul Bellanova on the right side. The Italian heads it down towards the middle, and Ederson comes flying in with a diving header, sending it past Mike Maignan.

The game needed a spark of magic, and this is just that!
