Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, Antonio Rudiger, and Dani Ceballos will be formally probed by UEFA over their celebratory antics at the Metropolitano Stadium after Los Blancos secured a 4-2 win on penalties against cross-town rivals Atletico.
Antonio Rudiger put his hand around his neck, signifying a throat-slitting gesture that went viral on social media. Meanwhile, Mbappe was filmed allegedly grabbing his crotch towards the Rojiblancos fans.
Vinicius Jr and Dani Ceballos will also be investigated in connection with alleged confrontations with the home fans, even though Ceballos was injured and did not play in the game.
What Will Happen To The Real Madrid Players Being Probed?
UEFA has announced that they have appointed an ethics and disciplinary officer to investigate the allegations, which Atletico Madrid reported to the governing body last week. If the quartet are found to have breached UEFA라이브 바카라 Disciplinary Regulations with their actions, they may face bans, fines or even both.
Interestingly, Jude Bellingham faced a one-match ban last year after grabbing his crotch while celebrating his stoppage-time goal for England against Slovakia.
If UEFA does decide to impose a ban, the Real Madrid players in question will at least miss the first quarterfinal match against Arsenal, which is scheduled for 8 April.
Missing four key players, three of whom would be guaranteed starters in a high-profile game, will surely be a source of tension for Carlo Ancelotti, with the Italian manager chasing his sixth Champions League title.
However, the Los Blancos gaffer will first turn his attention to the La Liga 2024-25 clash against Leganes on 30 March, which can potentially put them on top of the table if Barcelona lose their league game against Osasuna.
