"Remontada... I've heard it about a million times this week, I've seen a million videos online," said Jude Bellingham ahead of the second leg clash where Madrid are aiming to overturn a 0-3 deficit.
What is remontada, one may ask. Remontada is the Spanish word for comeback and Madrid fans just can not stop using it in the view of their clash against Arsenal.
The word came into sporting limelight in 2017 when Barcelona did the unthinkable to script a comeback for ages against Paris Saint-Germain. PSG had earned a 4-0 win in the first leg over Barca and the Spanish side seemed to have no chance to advance further in the Champions League.
However, in the return leg at Camp Nou, Barcelona thrashed PSG 6-1 and in the aftermath of the incredible result, ‘La Remontada' came out of the Spanish media and entered the footballing dictionary.
Real Madrid too would hope for a similar storyline as they aim to takedown the Gunners in a remarkable fashion.
Bellingham backs his team to achieve a remontada.
"Tomorrow is an opportunity for us to do something for the first time and that's really important to us," he said. "It's a weird environment these last few days. One of the worst results we could possibly imagine away and for some reason everyone thinks it's nailed on that we'll come back. There's a lot of trust in the talent. There's an expectation from Real Madrid that when we get into these kind of holes we can come back, even if it's a really tough one, a really difficult one."
