Indian cricket team's veteran spinner was nominated for the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year award. Ashwin is the only Indian in the 4-member list alongside two Australian starts who won the ICC World Test Championship Final last year. ()
Ashwin had a great 2023 with the ball in Tests, scalping 41 wickets from 7 Tests. The spinner showed his quality in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 where he plucked 35 wickets in four matches. This nomination is Ashwin's third - he had won the award back in 2016.
