India is set to host the prestigious FIDE World Cup 2025 chess tournament, marking the country라이브 바카라 first international tournament since the Chennai Chess Olympiad in 2022. (More Sports News)
FIDE initially named India as the host for the tournament, but later changed the details to state that the host will be announced soon.
However, according to an Indian Express report, the tournament will be hosted in India later in the year.
The official FIDE website also states that the major tournament will run from October 31 to November 27.
The FIDE World Cup that features over 200 players and as a platform to the Candidates Tournament with three qualification spots up for grabs.
The tournament will see eight rounds in a knockout format, with the top 50 seeds playing from the second.
Every one-on-one match is played as a set of two classical games, with the colours exchanged between game one and two.
R Praggnanandhaa scripted history in the 2023 edition, taking the silver medal after going down to Magnus Carlsen in the final.
Viswanathan Anand still remains the only Indian to win the World Cup, bringing home titles in 2000 and 2002.
After missing out on the hosting rights for the World Chess Championship, the FIDE World Cup will mark the biggest event India will host.
This is also the second time India will host the FIDE Chess World Cup, previously hosted in Hyderabad, back in 2002.
