RBC Heritage Golf: Justin Thomas Reflects On 'Really, Really Hard' Play-Off Victory

Justin Thomas believes his positive attitude during the round was key to his title win, while he also admitted the sense of relief at finally tasting victory again

Justin Thomas returned to the winners' circle after a three-year drought thanks to a dramatic play-off win over Andrew Novak at the RBC Heritage. (More Sports News)

Thomas finished with a bogey-free 68 to reach 17-under-par, with Novak matching his score after carding the same round.

In the play-off, Thomas sank a wonderful 21-foot birdie putt to seal the title after Novak had missed his attempt from 35 feet.

This marked Thomas' 16th win on the PGA Tour, but his first since picking up his second major title at the 2022 US PGA Championship three years ago.

Thomas believes his positive attitude during the round was key to his victory, while he also admitted the sense of relief at finally tasting victory again.

"Winning is hard. It라이브 바카라 really, really hard," the 31-year-old said.

"I’ve worked my butt off and stayed patient, stayed positive.

"There is a little bit of relief there. This was just the me of old.

"It's so hard to force the issue on a course like this. It's so fast and so much fun to play. I'm really proud of myself."

Daniel Berger shot a 65 to finish in a four-way tie for third, alongside fellow Americans Brian Harman and Maverick McNealy, as well as Canadian Mackenzie Hughes.

Tommy Fleetwood's wait for a first PGA Tour title goes on, as he closed with a 70 to finish seventh, one shot ahead of world number one Scottie Scheffler.

The Zurich Classic is next on the calendar, with Rory McIlroy playing in his first tournament since his historic triumph at the Masters.
