This is the first-ever edition of the World Boxing Cup after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) granted provisional recognition to World Boxing. The events will also be a part of the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.
The 130-strong roster, featuring former Olympians, also includes 10 pugilists from India. The headline name among the 10-man team is Narender Berwal, who won a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games.
The Indian team, coached by Dharmendra Singh Yadav, consists of Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (50 kg), Manish Rathore (55 kg), Sachin (60 kg), Abhinash Jamwal (65 kg), Hitesh (70 kg), Nikhil Dubey (75 kg), Lakshya Chahar (80 kg), Jugnoo (85 kg), Vishal (90 kg), and Narender Berwal (90+ kg).
Other than Jugnoo, who was selected due to the unavailability of the national champion, the rest of the squad members earned their spots by winning their respective weight categories at the men라이브 바카라 national championships held in Bareilly in January.
The inaugural World Boxing Cup will be vital for the Indian boxers, as it will be their first time competing in the newly introduced weight categories. They will look to secure as many wins as possible early on to book a place in the World Boxing Cup Final 2025, which will be hosted in India in November.
However, there are no women boxers representing India in the competitions, as the women라이브 바카라 nationals were held only last week.
