Cooper confessed of not watching the show fully and added, ''I just don't like watching myself. And now Jack (Thorne-the creator) says it's going into schools... that's my worst nightmare!''

''I’m not watching it in my own school. No chance. I’d watch episode one, maybe two and four — but not three,” he said further.

Cooper also said that ‘completely unaware’ of the darker side of the internet.

"I was glad I didn't have any idea of what was going on -- the emojis and the meanings behind them. I had no clue. And I don't think my friends knew, but it's obviously happening across the country. It's not a made-up story,” he added.

Adolescence was released on March 13, and it rose to prominence in such a short period of time. It is currently one of the most-talked shows on Netflix.

As per reports, the show debuted at No. 9 on Netflix's ‘Most Popular English TV’ list, and is now at No. 4, just behind Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Stranger Things, and Wednesday on the all-time ‘Most Popular English-language TV’ list.

Meanwhile, it is at No. 1 on the list for the top British TV series to watch.

Adolescence explores themes of social media's impact on youth, incel culture, toxic masculinity, internet safety, youth trauma, gender roles and more.

More than just a murder mystery, it is a social commentary highlighting societal issues related to identity, relationships, and the pressures faced by young people.
