Raid 2, the sequel to Ajay Devgn's 2018 blockbuster, is one of the most-anticipated movies. After Raid 2 release announcement, the makers, today, unveiled its teaser.
Raid 2 teaser shows that the sequel will see an epic clash between Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh. Ajay is returning as Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Amay Patnaik, while Riteish is portraying the role of a corrupt politician.
The teaser reminds us of how Patnaik raided Saurabh Shukla's Rameshwar Rajaji Singh house in the first part of the film and discovered black money hidden in a temple. Singh is now in jail, and while sipping tea, he says Patnaik is now on his 75th raid, which is in the residence of Deshmukh's character's Dada Bhai.
We also get a glimpse of Vaani Kapoor, who has replaced Ileana D’Cruz.
In the teaser, we see Patnaik has seized over 4200 crore of illicit money in 73 raids conducted and now it's his 75th raid on a politician.
The teaser ends with an intense conversation between Patnaik and Dada Bhai. The later says, “Since when have Pandavas begun placing traps?” to which Amay replies, “I never said I was the Pandava. I am Mahabharata.”
Sharing the teaser of Raid 2, Ajay Devgn wrote on social media, "74th Raid, 4200 Crores. Iss baar baazi hogi sabse badi! (sic)."

Raid 2 Release Date
Raj Kumar Gupta, who also directed the first instalment, has returned to helm the sequel as well. Raid 2 hit the theatres on May 1. It was initially scheduled for release on November 15, 2024.
Raid 2 Cast
Apart from Ajay, Riteish and Vaani Kapoor, the film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial, among others.
The sequel is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and and produced by Panorama Studios.
The first part was based on a real-life income-tax raid conducted in the 1980s by the income tax officers, where Ajay's character raided the house of an influential man in Lucknow. The movie was well-received by the audiences and critics. It also performed well at the box office.
