The Royals- Netflix (May 9)
The Royals is a rom-com drama, that premiered on Netflix today. Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter are in the lead roles. The story revolves around Prince Aviraj Singh (Ishaan Khatter) and Sophia Shekhar (Bhumi Pednekar), both falling in love with each other, during the restoration of their palace. Apart from Ishaan and Bhumi, it also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat.
Gram Chikitsalay- Amazon Prime Video (May 9)
The new comedy series, Gram Chikitsalay is currently streaming on Prime Video. The story is about a remote village called Bhatkhandi, where Dr. Prabhat (Amol Parashar) is posted in an old medical centre. It shows how Dr. Prabhat tries to survive in the village. The web series also stars Vinay Pathak, Akash Makhija, Garima Vikrant Singh, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor among others.
The Diplomat- Netflix (May 9)
Directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah, The Diplomat is based on a true story. John Abraham played the real-life Indian diplomat J.P. Singh, who embarks a risky mission to rescue the ‘Daughter of India’. The film explores themes of India-Pakistan relations, diplomacy, power and humanity. It show how diplomats encounter moral and ethical dilemmas when their personal lives intertwine with political or state matters. It also features Sadia Khateeb, Kubbra Sait, Sharib Hashmi, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Revathy.
Good Bad Ugly- Netflix (May 8)
Ajith Kumar starrer Good Bad Ugly, which released in theatres on April 10, started streaming on OTT on May 8. Good Bad Ugly follows the story of AK aka The Red Dragon who leaves behind the profession of a gangster for the sake of his son. But, years later, he is forced to follow the violent ways when his son Vihaan is falsely accused and targeted by a gang. Alongside Ajith, the film has an ensemble cast including Trisha, Arjun Das, Prasanna, Priya Prakash Warrier, Shine Tom Chacko, Redin Kingsley, BS Avinash, Prabhu, Prasanna, Raghu Ram, Rahul Dev, Yogi Babu, Sunil, and Jackie Shroff. Simran has a cameo appearance in it.
Odela 2- Amazon Prime Video (May 8)
Odela 2, the sequel to successful 2022 film, Odela Railway Station, released in theatres on April 17. The supernatural thriller is headlined by Tamannaah Bhatia, where she plays Shiva Shakthi- who possesses divine energy and fights evil forces in the film. The story is about a haunted village, which is under threat from a seemingly possessed force (played by Vasishta N Simha) and how Tamannaah saves the villagers.
