The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the grandest celebration of cinema, began on Tuesday (May 13) at the French Riviera, with several renowned celebs gracing the red carpet. Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry, who serve as one of the jury members of this year's Cannes had to ditch her dramatic couture by ace Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. Here's the reason.

Halle had to skip wearing Gaurav Gupta-designed outfit due to new dress code rule of the festival, that disallows nudity and extravagantly large attires on the Cannes red carpet.

During the official Cannes jury press conference, Halle said, "I had an amazing dress by [Gaurav] Gupta to wear tonight, and I cannot wear it because the train라이브 바카라 too big."

The X-Men star added, "I had to make a pivot. But the nudity part, I do think, is probably also a good rule."

Halle Berry's look at Cannes

Halle Berry walked the red carpet in a black-and-white halter-neck gown by French label Jacquemus. She kept her look simple with minimal accessories. The actress carried a black clutch to complete her look.

Cannes new dress code

A day before the opening ceremony, Cannes organisers put their new dress rules. According to the event라이브 바카라 official FAQ website, the guidelines state that "nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival." 

The guidelines also state, "Voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater are not permitted.” 

Regarding the footwear, the authorities suggested guests to wear "elegant shoes and sandals with or without a heel." 

The official guidelines also state, "The Festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules."
