Delhi Polls: AAP Releases Final List; Arvind Kejriwal To Run From New Delhi, CM Atishi From Kalkaji| Full List

The Election Commission has yet to announce the date for the Delhi polls. The ruling party has all four lists of candidates. Former CM Arvind Kejriwal has been fielded from the New Delhi assembly seat, while the current CM Atishi will contest the elections from the Kalkaji constituency.

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced a total of 67 names in the four lists for the upcoming Delhi assembly election including the names of top party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, Satyendra Kumar Jain, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Amanatullah Khan.

The Election Commission is yet to release the date of the elections for Delhi. The current government began with Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister in February 2020 and will officially end on February 15, 2025.

The fourth list of candidates holds the names of some of the senior party leaders, former CM Arvind Kejriwal has been fielded from the New Delhi assembly seat, while the current CM Atishi will contest the elections from the Kalkaji constituency. The other names also include Satyendra Kumar Jain, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Amanatullah Khan.

The third list contained just one name that is Tarun Yadav who has been fielded from Najafgarh.

In the second list, the ruling party has fielded senior party leader Manish Sisodia from the Jangpura seat, moving him from Patparganj seat. Sisodia has been replaced by Educator Avadh Ojha, who has recently joined the party.

The list also includes the names of Jintender Singh Shunty (fielded from Shahdara) and Surinder Pal Singh Bittu (Timarpur), who recently quit the BJP to join the AAP.

Shunty replaces sitting AAP MLA and Speaker in the outgoing Assembly Ram Niwas Goel, while Surinder Bittu has been fielded in place of Dilip Pandey, AAP's chief whip in the house.

The first list of candidates included six turncoats such as former Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha, and BB Tyagi and former Congress leaders Chaudhry Zubair Ahmad, Veer Dhingan and Sumesh Shokeen.

AAP's first list of candidates comes after former transport minister and AAP member Kailash Gahlot resigned from the party and joined the BJP.

Delhi Assembly elections were expected to be held in 2025. However, due to the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP supremo called for early elections as he stepped down from the post.

Election Commission of India is expected to announce the date of the Delhi polls soon. As per reports, the assembly elections across the national capital are expected to be held by February 2025.
