At least 10 people, including the suspect, were killed in a school shooting in Orebo, Sweden on Tuesday. Police have stated that the motive for the shooting at Risbergska school remains unknown but have ruled out an "ideological reason."
As the investigation continues, police officials have stated that there was no evidence of "ideological motives" behind the mass shooting.
What Happened In Orebo?
An active shooter situation was reported to the police at 12:33 PM local time on Tuesday. The shooting took place at Campus Risbergska - which is a school for adults.
In response to the shooting, the police locked down six schools and a restaurant in the area and urged peole to stay indoors and lock all doors and windows.
The initial death toll from the incident was five, which later increased to 10. The death toll included the suspect as well.
As per a Reuters report, at least six people were injured. Citing regional authorities, the report added that five of the victims needed surgery due to the injuries and remained in serious condition.
What Do We Know About The Suspect?
The suspect behind the shooting is yet to be identified. Swedish media has reported that the man was 35-years-old and unemployed with a hunting license.
However, misinformation about the attacker has started to spread on social media. As the investigation continues, the police have urged people to not fall prey to such misinformation.
