Thousands of teachers whose appointments were suspended by a Supreme Court judgement have asserted to intensify their protests and call a mega rally on Tuesday. The overnight protests began on Monday outside the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) in Kolkata as the Commission fell short in producing the list of tainted and untainted teachers. Approximately 26000 protestors including both the teaching and non-teaching staff flooded the headquarters in Salt Lake. This was in regard to the Apex court라이브 바카라 directive on April 3 invalidating appointments citing “widespread irregularities” during the 2016 recruitment drive. The SC upheld the Calcutta High Court라이브 바카라 decision of suspending the staff stating that the recruitment drive was “vitiated”.
The issue began when the affected parties were informed that the SSC has envisaged a new cut off distinguishing the “tainted” from the “untainted” category. It said that the first three of the 20 rounds of counseling that was held between 2017 to 2019 would be considered legitimate.
A Rapid Action Force was deployed to the site of protest where the agitators asserted that they were not afraid of the police and chanted the slogan “We want justice” in front of Acharya Sadan.
The termination of over 25000 teaching and non-teaching staff from state run and assisted schools has led to a deadlock between the SSC and the protestors’ 13-member delegation. The SSC Chairman has said that he would consult with lawyers before sharing any statement on the matter. The protestors are demanding an immediate release of the list along with the resignation of the Education Minister and WBSSC Chairperson.
