A massive fire broke out at Delhi's Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in Pitampura today. Delhi Fire Service told news agency ANI that 11 fire tenders rushed to the site and the fire was brought under control around 9.40 am.
No casualty has been reported so far and the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
"Fire broke out at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in Pitampura today. 11 fire tenders rushed to the site and the fire was brought under control around 9.40 am. The fire broke out first in the library. Cooling operation continues", Delhi Fire Service officials told ANI.
Visuals making rounds on social media show huge flames blowing out of the windows of the college and a cloud of black smoke erupting from the flames.
According to officials from the DFS, the blaze erupted inside the college library. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries. Cooling operations are currently underway to prevent any flare-ups, officials said.
