The Delhi High Court has slammed Baba Ramdev for his ‘sharbat jihad’ remark. While hearing the matter, the High Court said that the remark ‘shocks the conscience’.
After being slammed by the High Court, the Patanjali founder agreed to take down the ‘sharbat jihad’ video.
Delhi High Court On ‘Sharbat Jihad’ Remark
Hamdard company has moved to the Delhi High Court after Ramdev라이브 바카라 comments on a video against Hamdard라이브 바카라 Rooh Afza went viral.
In the video, Ramdev can be seen saying that one company is there that sells drinks and constructs mosques with its profit.
He added, “Just like there is love jihad, there is sharbat jihad too”.
Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi represented Hamdard in Delhi High Court on Tuesday, where he argued, “This amounts to hate speech.. He should carry on his business. Why is he troubling us?” He alleged that this remark is creating a ‘communal divide’.
Justice Amit Bansal, who was hearing the plea of Hamdard National Foundation India against Patanjali Foods Ltd, said, “It shocks the conscience of the court. It is indefensible. You (counsel for Ramdev) instructions from your client otherwise there will be a strong order,” PTI reported.
Ramdev defended his remark by saying that he didn’t mention any brand or community라이브 바카라 name. The court would take up the matter again after sometime as the counsel who was supposed to argue the case for Ramdev was not available.
What Did Ramdev Say?
The controversy started on April 3, when Ramdev was promoting his own brand라이브 바카라 drink, Patanjali Rose Sharbat, he said “ There is a company that gives you sharbat, but it constructs madrasas and mosques with its earnings… If you drink that sharbat, mosques and madrasas will be built. But if you drink this (Patanjali Rose sharbat), gurukuls will be built, Acharya Kulam will be built, Patanjali University will expand and The Bharatiya Shiksha Board will grow”.
He added, “Just like there is love jihad, there is sharbat jihad too. To protect yourself from sharbat jihad, this message must reach everyone”.
Though he didn’t mention any particular brand라이브 바카라 name, netizens assume that this remark was targeted at Hamdard brand라이브 바카라 Rooh Afza drink.
Past Controversies
This is not the first time that Patanjali is facing legal challenges. Over the last two years, Patanjali got into several controversies regarding its ads or due to some remarks by Ramdev. Once he compared the other brand라이브 바카라 juices to ‘toilet cleaners’.
