Orange Alert In Jharkhand
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for hailstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in parts of Jharkhand on Thursday. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected across the state.
Hail and gusty winds up to 50 kmph may occur in eastern regions, while thunderstorms are likely in western parts. The orange alert signifies “be prepared,” according to the India Meteorological Department.
This weather change is attributed to moisture from the Bay of Bengal and a low-pressure area over Jharkhand. On Wednesday, Daltonganj recorded the highest temperature in the state at 40.3 degrees Celsius, with Ranchi at 35.2 degrees Celsius.
Rain and hailstorms hit parts of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, resulting in two deaths from lightning, officials reported. Lucknow also experienced rainfall. Firozabad's ADM confirmed the fatalities in the district.
In response to unseasonal rains and hailstorms, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to urgently carry out relief operations. He instructed district authorities to monitor relief efforts and ensure immediate assistance to those affected, as well as to assess crop damage and report back to the state government for support initiatives.
The weather office said heavy rains and lightning are likely in Kaushambi, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Lucknow, Barabanki, Raebareli.
Heat-Wave Like Conditions In Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has forecasted heat wave conditions in 17 mandals across the state for Thursday.
Among the 17 mandals, six are located in Krishna district, four in NTR district, two each in Parvathipuram Manyam, Guntur, and Palnadu districts, and one in Eluru, as stated by APSDMA Managing Director Kurmanadh in a press release.
Additionally, scattered rains with thundershowers are expected in 13 districts on Thursday, including Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Anakapalle, and East Godavari. Other districts likely to experience thundershowers due to surface circulation over central India include Konaseema, Kakinada, Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Prakasam, Nandyal, Anantapur, and Sri Sathya Sai, according to the press release.
The highest temperatures recorded included 40.8 degrees Celsius in Ulindakonda of Kurnool district, 40.3 degrees Celsius in Darimaduga of Prakasam district, and 40.1 degrees Celsius in Thavanampalle of Chittoor district. High temperatures were also noted in Darimaduga (Prakasam), Errampet (Alluri Sitarama Raju), and Thavanampalle (Chittoor), with 25 locations exceeding 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.n Wednesday
