Jammu and Kashmir: Security, Surveillance Heightened After Encounter In Udhampur, Kishtwar

According to J&K Police, exchange of fire resumes between terrorists and security forces in Kishtwar where a search operation was going on.

Security forces have enhanced surveillance after brief encounters between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar district라이브 바카라 Chatroo belt and Jopher-Marta belt of Udhampur on Wednesday.

They have heightened the surveillance in high- altitude areas of Jammu Kashmir라이브 바카라 Bharderwah.


They have tightened the security in the high altitude areas as in the months of summer, melting snow works as a major contributing factor to infiltration.

After night-long cordons in Jammu and Kashmir라이브 바카라 Udhampur and kishtwar district, security forces resumed their search operations on Thursday, April 10. The J&K police have reported a fresh exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar on April 11, Friday.

What Did The police Say?

On Wednesday, April 9, brief encounters broke out in the areas of Udhampur and Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official said, “ the entire forest belt is still under tight security cordon to neutralise the terrorists. The area is mountainous and the forest is dense, making the operation difficult and dangerous. We have deployed additional companies to the nearby areas.”


After a night-long cordon regarding the encounters, security forces resumed the search operation. A massive search operation has been started in the Marta village of Ramnagar, Udhampur. They have launched tight security with drone surveillance and aerial reconnaissance.

In a post on X, police said, “During a search operation by police and other security forces, contact was established with terrorists at Jopher belt in the Ramnagar police station area of Udhampur.” They have also added that two to three terrorists were trapped.

A police official mentioned, " They have recently infiltrated. We are hopeful that we will succeed in eliminating the entire group of terrorists involved in this attack” .

On March 23, a gunfight had erupted in Kathua district-just 4 km away from international border with Pakistan, which resulted in death of two terrorists and 4 policemen. After this incident Joint Forces started their 'seek and destroy' mission in Kathua and Rajouri districts.
