The Congress Working Committee (CWC) called the Pahalgam terror attack a ‘cowardly and calculated act of terror’ on Thursday. It calls for a detailed analysis of ‘intelligence failure’ and ‘security lapses’ that led to the attack.
On April 24, CWC assembled at 24, Akbar Road headquarters for a party meeting focused on the Pahalgam terror attack that took place on April 22, 2025, resulting in the killing of 26 people, mainly tourists and wounding at least 20 others.
CWC Offers Condolences
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party Sonia Gandhi, former Party Chief Rahul Gandhi along with other party members attended the meeting. They have condemned the attack and offered its condolences to the victims’ families by saying, “The Congress Working Committee extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families. It stands with them wholeheartedly in this moment of profound anguish”.
CWC also paid tributes to the local tourist guides and pony walas, “One of whom was martyred while selflessly trying to protect the tourist to uphold the idea of India”.

CWC On Security Failures
Raising the matter of safety failures, Congress says in its resolution that Pahalgam is known for its three tier security. It says, “It is imperative that a comprehensive analysis is conducted into the intelligence failures and security lapses that enabled such an attack in a Union Territory-an area directly under the purview of the Union Home Ministry. These questions must be raised in the larger public interest. This is the only way justice can truly be seen to be served for the families whose have been so brutally devastated”.
‘Mastermind By Pakistan’-CWC
CWC calls the terror attack a ‘cowardly and calculated act of terror, mastermind by Pakistan’. The resolution says, “It's a direct assault on the values of our Republic”. It added, “The deliberate targeting of Hindus was done to inflame passions across the country”.
CWC Attacks BJP
CWC attacked BJP by saying that BJP is exploiting the grave tragedy through its official and proxy social media platforms in a way that라이브 바카라 spreading ‘discord, mistrust, polarisation and division’ at a time when ‘unity and solidarity’ is mostly needed.
Safety Of Pilgrims And The Residents Of Kashmir
As the Amarnath Yatra was scheduled to commence soon, the resolution talks about a ‘robust, transparent and proactive’ security arrangements. It has also mentioned about the safety concerns of pilgrims and the protection of Jammu and Kashmir people whose earnings depend on tourism.
