In view of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut his state visit to Saudi Arabia short and has arrived back in New Delhi. With the death toll up to 26, the prime minister is expected to chair a key cabinet meeting regarding the attack.
Meanwhile, key J&K parties have joined PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti's call for the Kashmir bandh today.

The death toll due to the terror attack remains at 26. This death toll includes two foreigners from Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. An official count for the death toll from the attack is yet to be ascertained.
While some of the deceased are yet ot be identified, the toll includes an officer from the Intelligence Bureau and the Indian Navy.
PM Modi has cut his visit to Saudi Arabia short in lieu of the Pahalgam attack. The prime minister landed in Delhi early Wednesday and will head a cabinet meeting with the NSA Ajit Doval, EAM S Jaishankar and FS Vikram Misri.
The ruling party in Jammu and Kashmir - Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has joined PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's collective call for a Kashmir bandh. In view of the bandh, several businesses, shops and schools have been shut.
Following the attack, several tourists have also cancelled their plans in Kashmir. Speaking to news agency ANI, a tourist from Delhi revealed that they have decided to leave for Delhi.
"We have been in Kashmir for the last three days. We had plans for Pahalgam, but since the situation is not good here, we are leaving for Delhi... What happened here is very wrong," he said.
The Pahalgam attack took place on Tuesday and has killed at least 26 people. An LeT offshoot group - The Resistance Front - has allegedly claimed responsibility for the worst attack in Kashmir since Pulwama in 2019.
