Pakistan has appointed its top intelligence official, Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik, as the country라이브 바카라 new National Security Adviser (NSA), The Hindu reported.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, Gen Malik, who has served as Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) since October 2024, will now hold the NSA post as an additional charge.
“Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik HI (M), DG (I), shall hold the additional charge of the National Security Adviser, with immediate effect,” the notification stated.
This is the first time in Pakistan라이브 바카라 history that a serving ISI chief has been tasked with concurrently managing the two critical roles of spy chief and NSA, a development that comes amid rising tensions with India after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.
The NSA position has been vacant since April 2022, when Dr Moeed Yusuf stepped down following the ouster of the Imran Khan-led government.
