PM Modi Will Remain Prime Minister Even Beyond 2029: Maha CM Devendra Fadnavis

Rubbishing speculations over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's retirement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday asserted Modi will continue to lead the country even beyond 2029 and there is no question of discussing a successor. Fadnavis was speaking at the India Global Forum in Mumbai.

Modi turning 75 in September this year fueled the speculation as he himself reportedly made 75 the age for retirement for politicians.

Answering questions on who will be PM Modi's successor, Fadnavis on Tuesday said, "I have said that it is not the right time to think of a successor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, because, in 2029, Modi will be prime minister again".

The chief minister's firm assertions came in response to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut라이브 바카라 claim last month that Modi had visited Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur to convey the message that he is “retiring”.

'Retirement Application...': Sanjay Raut On PM Modi

Speculations on PM Modi's retirement surfaced last month when Raut had claimed that Modi probably went to the RSS headquarters on March 30 to "write his retirement application in September.”

“It appears that Modi라이브 바카라 heir will be decided by the RSS which is why Modi was called (to the RSS headquarters) and discussions took place. Sangh라이브 바카라 discussions are held behind closed doors. The indications are very clear. The Sangh will decide the next leader and that leader could be from Maharashtra,” the Rajya Sabha member had claimed, as per PTI.

'Mughal Culture': Maha CM Hits Back At Sanjay Raut

Dismissing the speculations about PM Modi라이브 바카라 retirement and his potential successor, Fadnavis earlier said, “There is no need to search for his successor. He (Modi) is our leader and will continue.”

“In our culture, when the father is alive, it is inappropriate to talk about succession. That is Mughal culture. The time has not come to discuss it,” he said, referring to Raut라이브 바카라 claim that Modi라이브 바카라 successor would come from Maharashtra.

"Even If He Turns 75....": Amit Shah On PM Modi's Retirement

Back in May 2024, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said,"PM Modi is turning 75 on September 17. He made a rule that leaders in the party would retire after 75 years. Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan, and Yashwant Sinha have retired, and now PM Modi is going to retire on September 17."

Responding to Kejriwal's claims, Amit Shah said, "I want to tell Arvind Kejriwal and the INDI alliance that there is no need to be happy about Modiji turning 75. It is not written in the Constitution of the BJP that Modiji cannot become Prime Minister. He will again become Prime Minister and complete the term."
