Prajwal Revanna Confined Woman, Raped And Filmed The Act, Says Police Chargesheet

As per reports, the police chargesheet has stated that the former MP had confined the woman, raped her multiple times and also recorded the acts.

Suspended JD(U) leader Prajwal Revanna was arrested last year after allegations of kidnapping, rape and sexual assault were made against him by a domestic worker. As per reports, the police chargesheet has stated that the former MP had confined the woman, raped her multiple times and also recorded the acts.

As per a report by India Today, one of the chargesheets filed by the Special Investigation Team, the assault dates back to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. The chargesheet states that Revanna would confine the domestic worker, rape her and film the act.

The suspended MP has also been accused of threatening the survivor with "dire consequences" if she spoke out about the assaults and rape.

Prajwal Revanna has been in judicial custody for over 10 months and has been denied bail by courts. The suspended JDU leader has been booked under section 376(2)(k) for rape by a person in a position of control, Section 376(2)(n) for repeated rape of the same woman, and Sections 354A, 354B, 354C, 506, and 201, which pertain to sexual harassment, disrobing, voyeurism, criminal intimidation, and destruction of evidence, of the Indian Penal Code respectively.

Revanna has also been charged under Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, 2008, which is a violation of privacy through unauthorised image capture and circulation.
