Sambhal Violence: SP MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq Appears Before SIT To Record Statement

Samajwadi Party MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq was questioned on Tuesday regarding the violence that broke out in Sambhal last year during a court-ordered survey of a mosque.

The Sambhal MP, accompanied by more than 10 lawyers, arrived at Nakhasa police station around 11:30 am to have his statement recorded by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case.

The SP MP remained at the police station for about three hours, during which he was asked questions regarding the violence that broke out in Kot Garvi locality on November 24 last year.

The violence resulted in the deaths of four people and left several others, including security personnel, injured. The incident quickly escalated into a significant political controversy, drawing attention in both the state assembly and Parliament.
