Popular messaging app WhatsApp was down for many users in India on Saturday as they raised the issue on other sites and shared that they were unable to send messages and upload status.
According to app outage tracking platform Down Detector, at least 81 per cent users reported problems with sending messages while 16 per cent with overall app experience.
Meta-owned WhatsApp has not responded on the issue as of yet.
Similar Outage In The Past
WhatsApp experienced a massive outage back in February 2025 which left many users across the world unable to use the app properly.
The users were reportedly unable to connect or send messages via the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web or make any calls.
Earlier in the day, UPI users across the country experienced transaction failures as the popular payment system was down due to a technical glitch.
This is the third time in less than a fortnight that UPI witnessed outages impacting transactions. In the recent past, UPI outage was reported on March 26 and April 2.
