LSG, playing their first home game of the season, will aim to carry their winning form from their 5-wicket win against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 27 March. Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31) and Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26) led the LSG batting attack, with the away side reaching the target of 191 with almost four overs left.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings were superb in their season-opener against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad, posting a total of 243 in the first innings and winning by 11 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer was unbeaten at 97, while Shashank Singh played a fiery knock of 44 runs from 16 balls.
Punjab will look to get another positive result against an unpredictable LSG side that is missing as many as four pacers – Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Akash Deep. However, Shardul Thakur has been an able replacement signing, taking six wickets in the opening two games.
