Asked to bat first, MI made 215 runs while making two changes in the playing XI - Karn Sharma replaced Mitchell Santner, whereas Corbin Bosrch came in place of Vignesh Puthur. LSG also made one change by playing Mayank Yadav in place of Shardul Thakur.

Ryan Rickelton made his second half-century of the season and gave a blazing start with Rohit Sharma, who lost his wicket after hitting a couple of sixes.
Will Jacks made 29 runs off 21 balls, whereas coming at number four, Suryakumar Yadav played a 54-run knock off 28 balls. He also got the Orange Cap for making the most runs in the season so far.
Naman Dhir (25) and Corbin Bosch (20) played quick cameos to take MI's score to 215 runs. Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav picked up a couple of wickets for LSG.
In response, Mitch Marsh went berserk, but LSG lost wickets at regular intervals. Ayush Badoni (35) and David Miller (24) made crucial runs but could not take LSG past the line.
Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Miller, Abdul Samad and Avesh Khan in the same over to dash their hopes of victory. He finished his spell with four wickets. Trent Boult also picked up three wickets.
Mumbai Indians have climbed to the second place after this win. LSG, on the other hand, are in sixth place with five wins in 10 matches.
MI will go to Jaipur to play Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, 1 May 2025, whereas LSG will go to Himachal Pradesh's Dharamsala to play Punjab Kings on Sunday, 4 May.
