The Marcus Stoinis-led Stars opted to bat but Jhye Richardson's 3/19 stifled the Stars' batting as they posted a decent 146/9 in 20 overs.
Stoinis top-scored with 33-ball 37 as the rest of the batters failed around him. Only Tom Curran scored 37 from 19 balls that brought some stability to the Stars' innings.
In reply, the Scorchers lost early wickets but Cooper Connolly's 64 runs off 51 balls, helped Ashton Turner's men to turn the tide.
Turner (37 not out) and Nick Hobson (27 not out) steered their side home to register an easy wicket for the home team.
