SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a night to forget on Thursday, 3 April, against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 15 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, losing by 80 runs. However, Pat Cummins had an ace up his sleeve that saw the debut of IPL라이브 바카라 first ambidextrous bowler Kamindu Mendis. (Match Highlights | Points Table | Full Coverage)

In the 13th over of KKR라이브 바카라 first innings at the Eden Gardens, Cummins called up debutant Kamindu Mendis to take the ball. The Sri Lankan all-rounder started bowling to the left-handed Rinku Singh as a right-arm off-spinner but switched to left-arm orthodox against right-handed Angkrish Raghuvanshi, dismissing the youngster after he reached 50.

This marked the first time that an ambidextrous bowler had taken a wicket in IPL history, which was something of a silver lining for the Orange Army after their heaviest-ever defeat in the league.

Skipper Cummins chose to give just one over to Mendis on Thursday – one wicket for four runs – but the INR 75 lakh signing is likely to get more opportunities going ahead for SRH.

Kamindu Mendis Career So Far

26-year-old Kamindu Mendis has been a known name in the international cricket circuit for being the only player to regularly switch hands while bowling, irrespective of the game라이브 바카라 situation.

After a run of first-class games for Galle, the all-rounder made his T20I debut for the Lankan team in December 2018, and went on to feature in all three formats within the next four years.

He shot to international fame after bowling with both hands to Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav in a T20I match in 2024 – becoming the second ambidextrous bowler of his country after Tharindu Rathnayake.

The all-rounder is extremely adept at bowling with both hands, but his left-arm orthodox is seemingly the stronger skill of the two. He is also handy with the bat, having secured 381 runs in 23 T20I matches as well as 1937 runs in Twenty-20 games.

His performances for Sri Lanka prompted SRH to buy him at his base price, and his immediate impact in the match against KKR – despite SRH라이브 바카라 third-straight loss – will give Daniel Vettori something to think about ahead of the next game against Gujarat Titans (GT) on 6 April.
