It was a match of few chances, but the deadlock was broken when FC Goa's Sandesh Jhingan diverted a cross to the back of his net just before half-time to give Bengaluru FC a 1-0 lead. The home side continued that form after the whistle, scoring in the 51st minute through Edgar Mendez to secure a two-goal cushion before today's test in Goa.

A nice counter-attack from Bengaluru FC sees the ball at the feet of Edgar Mendez, but the forward couldn't push further as he manages to get a corner. The corner is thwarted away from FC Goa defence. Warning signs for the hosts.

Just as Bengaluru FC were about to get ahead, FC Goa left-back Akash Sangwan hauls down the Blues attacker. The ref spots that and immediately books the defender. Two players now under the ref's book.

Attack after attack from the home team but the Blues defence is equal to it and thwarts away the crosses. Udanta Singh calls Gurpreet Singh into action but the latter parries it away. Excellent end to the half from the hosts but Bengaluru will be satisfied as their lead stays intact.
