India All Stars is set to host Brazil Legends in an exhibition match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai on 30 March. The clash will see legends of yesteryear, including Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, and Cafu, line up for the Selecao team in a clash celebrating the footballing heritage of Brazil and India. The Brazil Legends team will consist of 16 players – Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Cafu, Gilberto Silva, Edmilson, Marcelo, Viola, Giovanni, Junior, Alex Ferro, Lucio, Amaral, Jorginho, Diego Gil, Heurelho Gomes, Paulo Sergio, Camanducaia, Elivelton, Ricardo Oliveira, Cacapa, and Kleberson.
The team, which features players who have won World Cups in 1994 and 2002, will be coached by former Brazil World Cup-winning captain Dunga.
Meanwhile, the 17-player India All Stars squad will have Mehtab Hossain, Alvito D’Cunha, Syed Rahim Nabi, Karanjit Singh, Dharamaraj Ravanan, Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Arnab Mondal, NP Pradeep, Bibiano Fernandes, Mahesh Gawli, and Shanmugam Venkatesh, and will be managed by 1994 Asian Cup player Prasanta Banerjee.
The match, arranged by the Football Plus Academy in collaboration with the Brazil Soccer Academy, will be an exciting opportunity for the younger football fans in the country to experience these legends of the sport playing football first-hand, and the Marina Arena is expected to be sold out on Sunday.
