The news of his arrival was shared by Indian Super League (ISL) club Chennaiyin FC who uploaded a clip on social media showing Ronaldinho's arrival at the Chennai airport. In the clip, the legendary Brazillian footballer, who was part of his nation's 2002 World Cup triumph, can be seen at the airport with fans greeting him.
Chennaiyin FC uploaded the video and wrote: "An airport run we’d never thought we’d make.”
Ronaldinho's visit to India is part of the Brazil Legends tour where apart from the exhibition match, a two-day football summit will also take place.
The tour, organized by Football Plus Academy, will kick off with an exhibition match on March 30, 2025, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The match will have some of the greats of the game with legendary Brazilian footballers including Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Lucio, Gilberto Silva pitted against the Indian All-Stars featuring IM Vijayan, Mehtab Hossain, Karanjit Singh, and many more.
Following the match, a two-day football summit on March 31st and April 1st, 2025, will feature workshops, discussions, and interactions with FIFA World Cup winners.
