Indian football had another day of drama on 6 April, as the I-League 2024-25 finished amid uncertainty on who the rightful champions are. Churchill Brothers were “provisionally” named the winners of the second-tier tournament after its 1-1 draw against Real Kashmir. (More Football News)
However, Inter Kashi, who finished second despite a 3-1 win against Rajasthan FC, can still go top of the table later. Inter Kashi have an outstanding appeal against Namdhari FC for fielding an ineligible player against them in January.
If an AIFF Appeals Committee agrees with Kashi라이브 바카라 argument, then their 2-0 defeat to Namdhari will turn to a 3-0 forfeiture, which will give them three points – enough to overtake Churchill and take the I-League crown.
Such a level of uncertainty has undoubtedly shaken the confidence of both clubs’ fans, who will wait with bated breath to see which club goes through to the Indian Super League (ISL) next season.
Let라이브 바카라 have a look at four other instances where big clubs lost their titles off the pitch.
Calciopoli Scandal – Serie A (2006)
The Calciopoli scandal remains the biggest footballing corruption case to date. Several clubs from Italy라이브 바카라 top division Serie A were implicated in illegally colluding with match referees to get more favourable selections.
As a result, Juventus were stripped of two Serie A titles – 2004-05 and 2005-06, and relegated to the second division. The 2004-05 title was kept vacant, while the next year라이브 바카라 was given to Inter Milan. Meanwhile, other clubs like AC Milan, Fiorentina, and Lazio were also docked points.
Real Madrid – Copa Del Rey (2015)
Real Madrid saw their Copa del Rey run come to an end after they fielded Denis Cheryshev in the match against Cadiz in December 2015. The Russian midfielder even found the back of the net in the 3-1 win.
However, Cadiz complained that he should have been suspended for the match after getting three yellow cards for his former team Villarreal in the previous season. As a result, Los Blancos were thrown out of the competition by the Spanish federation.
FC Sion – Europa League (2011)
Swiss club FC Sion defeated Celtic over two legs in the Europa League play-offs in 2011, but were later accused of fielding five ineligible players in the match. The club allegedly fielded five players that they signed during a transfer embargo imposed on them after 2008.
As a result, UEFA eliminated Sion from the tournament while reinstating Celtic, handing them 3-0 wins in both legs and sending them to the group stage. FC Sion appealed the decision, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld UEFA라이브 바카라 decision.
Olympique Marseille – Ligue 1 (1992-93)
Olympique Marseille, who won the Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League that season, were convicted of engaging in corruption and bribery during their league match against Valenciennes.
Valenciennes’ Jacques Glassmann revealed that he, along with Jorge Burruchaga and Christophe Robert were approached by Marseille player Jean-Jacques Eydelie. Eydelie, on behalf of his team라이브 바카라 president and general manager, asked the trio to accept bribes in exchange for underperforming.
As a result, Marseille were stripped of their title (which remains vacant) and were relegated to the second tier. Meanwhile, the staff and players were handed jail terms of varying lengths.
