Actress Alia Bhatt, who was supposed to make her Cannes red carpet debut at the 78th edition of the film festival, has reportedly postponed it. She was slated to attend the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival on May 13, but decided to skip it due to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

India Today Digital quoted a source saying, “Alia took this decision considering the tension at the borders. The Raazi actor did not feel it was right to go to Cannes at such a crucial time. However, right now she will skip her attendance.”
Alia Bhatt was all set to make her red carpet appearance as the global ambassador for beauty brand L'Oreal Paris.
Earlier, while expressing her thoughts, Bhatt, in a statement, shared, "There라이브 바카라 something absolutely special about firsts — and I’m so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression. It is such an honour to represent L’Oréal Paris at the Festival with this year라이브 바카라 theme, ‘Lights, Beauty and Action’."

On May 13, Alia took to her Instagram handle to share her thoughts on the current situation between India and Pakistan. An excerpt from her post read: "The last few nights have felt... different. There's a certain stillness in the air when a nation holds its breath. And over the past few days, we've felt that stillness. That quiet anxiety. That pulse of tension that hums beneath every conversation, behind every news notification, around every dinner table. We have felt the weight of knowing that somewhere, out there in the mountains, our soldiers are awake, alert, and in danger."
On the work front, Alia will be seen in Shiv Rawail's Alpha which is backed by Yash Raj Films. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War alongside her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
