Kesari 2 Box Office Collection Day 4: Akshay Kumar Starrer Witnesses A Sharp Dip On Its First Weekday

Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari 2, which released on April 18, witnessed a significant growth on its first Sunday. But, on Monday, Day 4, the film saw a huge decline in its collections.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kesari 2 witnessed 69.83 percent dip in its earnings. It collected only Rs 4.5 crore on the fourth day of its release. The total box office collection of Kesari 2 stands at Rs 34 crore at the domestic market.

It had an overall 14.39 percent Hindi occupancy on Monday. Night shows recorded the maximum occupancy of 22.06%, while morning shows witnessed footfall of 7.45%.

Akshay Kumar's film nears Rs 50 crore worldwide.

Kesari 2 is facing a tough competition from Sunny Deol starrer Jaat, which hit the theatres on April 10. It is nearing Rs 80 crore mark at the domestic market. The action drama has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.

Akshay Kumar plays lawyer C Sankaran Nair in Kesari Chapter 2, who challenged the British Empire to expose the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, that took place on April 13, 1919.

The movie also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in key roles.

It has been backed by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films produced the film, and is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
