L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal in the lead, is minting moolah at the box office. After having a phenomenal start of Rs 21 crore, the film witnessed a decline on day 2. However, on day 3 and day 4, Empuraan saw a slight surge in its collections.

As per industry tracker, Sacnilk, Empuraan earned Rs 14.00 crore on its first Sunday across all five languages. The total collection of the action political thriller is Rs 59.35 crore in its extended opening weekend amid political row.

On Sunday, Empuraan collected Rs 13 crore in its own languages, followed by Rs 45 lakh in Tamil, Rs 31 lakh in Telugu, Rs 20 lakh in Hindi, and Rs 4 lakh in Kannada.

Empuraan had an overall 75.26% Malayalam occupancy on Sunday. Afternoon shows had the maximum occupancy of 84.39%, and morning shows had the lowest occupancy of 68.99%. Evening shows recorded an occupancy of 77.67% and night shows witnessed 69.99% occupancy.

Post its release, the film got embroiled in a controversy regarding certain references to the 2002 Gujarat riots. Mohanlal, on Sunday, expressing regret over the criticism surrounding his film, assured that "such subjects" would be removed from Empuraan. The film라이브 바카라 production team has also confirmed that scenes depicting violence against women and riots would be removed and the name of the antagonist will also be changed.

Despite the political row, the box office collections of Empuraan remain unaffected.

Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in key role. Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and international actors Eriq Ebouaney and Jerome Flynn, are also part of the film.

Empuraan is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Gokulam Gopalan, and A. Subaskaran under Aashirvad Cinemas, Sree Gokulam Movies, and Lyca Productions, respectively. It is written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
